Understanding Your MaMome Test Results
The MaMome Test is used to detect biomarkers in the DNA from your stool sample that are associated with gestational diabetes. Your healthcare provider will discuss your results with you. The test result can be Positive, Negative, or No Result Obtained, each necessitating different follow-up actions.
You can log in and review your results if you've already returned your kit. If you've returned your kit but haven't received your results yet, you can track your kit here.
Test Results:
What does a negative result mean?
-
The test did not detect specific biomarkers associated with gestational diabetes in your stool sample.
-
False negatives are possible, meaning the result did not detect gestational diabetes even though it might be present.
-
For this reason, it is recommended that you continue with regular prenatal check-ups and screenings as advised by your healthcare provider.
-
Speak to your healthcare provider about your test result. Your provider will advise on the next steps and whether further screening or testing is recommended based on your overall health and risk factors.
What does a positive result mean?
-
The test detected biomarkers in your stool sample associated with gestational diabetes.
-
It is possible for the test to have a false positive, meaning gestational diabetes may not actually be present.
-
Any positive result should be followed by further clinical evaluation.
-
Discuss your test result with your healthcare provider to determine if further diagnostic tests are needed
What does no result mean?
-
"No Result Obtained" means the test was unable to provide a conclusive result due to technical issues, such as inadequate DNA quantity or quality in the sample.
-
If this occurs, your healthcare provider will discuss the next steps with you, which may include providing another stool sample for the test.
Next Steps
Always discuss your test results with your healthcare provider to understand what they mean for your health and to determine the appropriate follow-up actions.
Your healthcare provider will guide you on any additional tests or monitoring that may be necessary based on your results.
